Skating at Lake Louise :
The most beautiful ice skating rink on earth is at Lake Louise Alberta. Actually, it’s on Lake Louise. Every winter this iconic lake freezes over and the good people of the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise transform it into an amazing winter wonderland.
Imagine yourself gliding across a freshly cleaned mountain lake surrounded by majestic peaks. Better yet, imagine yourself scoring a goal into a net during a game of hockey with the massive Victoria Glacier providing the backdrop. Not awe inspiring enough? Skate under night skies filled with stars after the sun goes down.
From mid-December to mid-April, depending on conditions, the Lake Louise skating rink is a true bucket list experience. But don’t forget to check the weather and bundle up. This is winter in the mountains after all!
If you’re driving up from Banff or Calgary to skate at Lake Louise it’s always good to email or call the Concierge Team at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise to check ice conditions, particularly in spring when the ice starts to melt.
