About The Holiday Lens

I spend more time at my day job than I care to admit. For the last 10 years or so, my desk seems to have become my best friend.   I am also very happily married with a little girl that I love to the moon and back.  My wife, daughter and desk leave me with little time to enjoy the only real hobby that I have – photography.

And with so little time for myself, I have had to get pretty creative (maybe even sneaky) in order to maximize photography while prioritizing work and family.  I hear the kids nowadays call work and family ‘adulting’.  I’m good with that.

Anyway, I thought I would start writing this blog to share some of the secrets I have learned traveling destinations around the world with my family.  We can’t all be digital nomads so this blog is really dedicated and written for all of us who have to get the most out of travel when we get the opportunity.

I also want to share some of the tips and lessons I have learned posing as a travel photographer while on family holidays.  And hopefully I can inspire some of you holiday warriors, particularly the moms and dads out there, to take that camera on your next trip and make some time for yourself, create some excellent images, and not get in too much trouble when your late arriving for dinner. A good place to start might be checking out My Gear page.

Oh, I live in Calgary, Alberta and that makes me Canadian.  I would really appreciate hearing from you if you have any comments, suggestions, tips, criticisms or experiences you want to share.  Let’s make this a community!
